Madhyamik Scrutiny 2026: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) just declared the Class 10 results for 2026. You might have doubts about your marks. The board provides a straightforward way to verify your papers.

You can get your papers re-checked through Post Publication Scrutiny (PPS), Post Publication Review (PPR), and RTI. The process is fast when you follow the exact guidelines set by the board.

Table of Contents

Rules for Scrutiny (PPS) and Review (PPR)

You must apply through your school. Students cannot apply online directly. The school handles the entire process. Reach out to your headmaster immediately if you want to proceed.

  • Successful students can apply for PPS (scrutiny).
  • Unsuccessful students can apply for PPR (review).
  • The fee is Rs 80 per subject for PPS.
  • The fee is Rs 100 per subject for PPR.
  • Schools can charge a maximum of Rs 5 extra for processing per candidate.
  • The online application window for schools runs from May 8, 2026 (4 PM) to May 22, 2026 midnight.
  • Submit a white paper with your name, roll number, and subjects to your headmaster.
  • Attach a marksheet photocopy and pay the fee in cash.

How to get your answer script via RTI

You can see your actual answer script under the RTI Act, 2005. This process gives you a certified copy of your exact paper. It gives you complete transparency.

  • Applications must reach the regional office (Kolkata, Burdwan, Midnapore, or North Bengal) within 75 days of the result publication.
  • The final deadline for RTI applications is July 23, 2026.
  • Write an application on plain paper or a prescribed format.
  • Pay a Rs 10 court fee along with the application.
  • Pay Rs 2 per page as a processing fee via challan to the designated office.
  • Attach a self-attested marksheet copy, an active phone number, and an email ID.
  • BPL candidates pay no fees but must provide a self-attested BPL certificate copy.
  • If you applied for PPS or PPR, wait for those results before filing an RTI.
  • Only the candidate or legal guardian can collect the script upon showing a valid ID.

Actionable advice for students and parents

Finish your PPS/PPR application at school before May 22. Server issues happen late in the window. Apply early.

RTI lets you view the paper. It does not automatically re-evaluate your answers. Apply for PPS/PPR first if you want your paper checked again for more marks.

Review your certified copy carefully when you receive it. If you find calculation errors or un-evaluated answers in your RTI copy, you have 15 days to apply for a free correction.
