Each সবসময় singular, তাই verb হবে singular: was। boys শুধু of-এর পরের বর্ণনা, মূল subject নয়। were, are, have plural, তাই ভুল। এই ধরনের বাক্যে প্রথমে মূল subject চিনে নিন, তারপর verb মেলান; মাঝের plural noun যেন বিভ্রান্ত না করে।
