What Candidates Should Do Now
Work through the process in this order.
- Step 1: Log in on ssc.gov.in and check your examination city details. Look at the city and dates early, so any problem is caught in time.
- Step 2: If it applies to you, finish own scribe mapping before 11 PM on 27 October 2026. Nothing suggests the deadline will be extended.
- Step 3: Begin trying to download your admit card 2 to 3 days before your exam date. It is reported to carry the assigned date, shift, reporting time and exam centre.
- Step 4: When the card arrives, match the date, shift, reporting time and centre address. If something looks off, act as the notice instructs.
- Step 5: Check the official notice once a day. Any change in the schedule will be announced there.
Points to Keep in Mind on Dates
The exam was first tentatively planned for May to June 2026. The revised schedule has pushed Paper-I to November.
City slips, meanwhile, are reported to be visible for exams scheduled up to 4 November. If your exam may fall on 5 or 6 November, check your details again closer to the date.
What to Verify in the Official Notification
The number of vacancies, application fee, age limit, syllabus and marking scheme are not part of the source for this update. For these, read the Staff Selection Commission’s official notification.
Preparation Note for the Last 7 Days
The final week is better spent revising than starting new topics.
- Go through short notes from your own branch (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) once a day.
- Since the exam is computer-based, take at least two or three full-length online mock tests.
- After each mock, jot down the questions you got wrong and review them the next day.
- Practise splitting your time, and move on from questions that hold you up.
- Match your sleep and study hours to the shift you expect to get.
- On the day before, check the route to the centre, the travel time and that your printed admit card is in order.
After Paper-I
As per the notice, Paper-II is tentatively placed in December 2026. JE (Telecommunication) Paper-I, on the other hand, is reportedly scheduled separately from 30 November to 1 December 2026.
Keep watching the SSC notice board for the final word on every date.
