Explanation
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress for the first time in 1938 at the Haripura session (Gujarat) unanimously. Later, in 1939 at the Tripuri session (Madhya Pradesh), he was re-elected by defeating Pattabhi Sitaramayya, the candidate backed by Mahatma Gandhi. However, due to ideological differences with Gandhi, Bose resigned from the presidency shortly after.
